Public Association “Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union” announces call for proposals for vacant position of Gender Advisor

 

The Gender Advisor (on part time work) will be responsible for:

·      Developing gender equality strategy and action plan that is integrated into projects work plans.

·      Assisting in the ongoing implementation of the gender equality strategy and action plans.

·      Assisting in ensuring integration of gender equality as a cross-cutting theme in all aspects of the projects.

·      Assisting in monitoring results against the indicators.

·      Strengthening UHHRU’s and partners’ gender equality knowledge and capacity.

·      Other related duties as required.

 

We expect that Gender Advisor will provide his/her skills, knowledge and expertise focusing on the achievements of the following results:

·      advancing women’s equal participation together with men

·      supporting women and girls in the realization of their rights

·      reducing gender inequalities within target groups that can influence participation, roles and responsibilities, division of labor, decision-making, access to and control over resources, and the distribution of benefits among different groups of beneficiaries

 

Requirements for candidates:

·      Higher education (degree in human rights, political science, international relations, social sciences).

·      3-5 years of working experience in the human rights or closely related field, particularly in gender mainstreaming and women’s human rights.

·      Knowledge of methodologies and best practices for promoting gender equality, equity and women empowerment in general and in Ukraine in particular.

·      Experience in gender integration in program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and gender analysis of project data.

·      Ability to lead planning, program development and implementation, results-based management and reporting.

·      The ability to work in team.

·      Strong writing, facilitation, and presentation skills.

·      Strong IT skills.  

·      Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian (verbal and written skills), knowledge of English.
