On Tuesday, 30 October 2018, the Forum on Internally Displaced Persons will be held between 10:00 and 17:00 at the Ukrainian Institute for Human Rights in Kyiv.
The Forum is hosted by the Ukrainian Institute for Human Rights and the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union within the framework of the advocacy project on the protection of the rights of internally displaced persons in Ukraine, supported by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
During the Forum, the most painful problems faced by victims of the conflict, including IDPs, as well as by host communities, will be discussed.
IDPs, representatives of NGOs and organizations that focus on IDP-related issues, representatives of local self-government of host communities, as well as Ukrainian parliament and government members are invited to take part in the Forum.
The invited NGOs will hold a series of consultations and master classes on the most pressing issues related to the protection and enforcement of IDPs’ rights.
The goal of the Forum is to work out solutions that can be implemented in legislative initiatives and government resolutions and will influence public opinion.
