In December, 2014 the monitoring visit of the group of monitors of the Public Freedoms Centre along with the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union and the Front Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman of Verkhovna Rada to the territories in Regions of Donetsk and Lugansk liberated by Ukrainian army took place. The monitors visited the towns of Severodonetsk, Lysychansk and Rubizhne, as well as Kostiantynivka, Artemivsk and Druzhkivka.
The visit objective was to evaluate the situation in the field of respect for children’s rights and the collect the information on the facts of holding of hostages.

With regard to the state of respect for the rights of the children at public agencies, academic institutions of Regions of Donetsk and Lugansk.
The visit was funded by donating organizations, namely the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the framework of the “Human Rights in Action” Project.
