Lectures on combating gender-based violence and protecting children from sexual exploitation took place at UHHRU

UHHRU analytics expert Alla Blaha conducted lectures for students of the Institute of International Relations as part of the course Human Rights Workshop.

What social and biological qualities can be found in a person, and how is it related to the use of the terms “sex” and “gender”? How can stereotypes lead to discrimination? What is gender-based violence and its types? What international and European laws determine the main aspects and standards aimed at combating gender-based violence and protecting children from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse? What changes in domestic legislation are aimed at creating and implementing effective mechanisms for preventing and combating domestic and gender-based violence and ensuring the protection of children from sexual exploitation and abuse?

On March 29, 2018 graduate students of the Institute of International Relations sought answers to these and other questions together with UHHRU analytics expert, Doctor of Law Sciences, Associate Professor Alla Blaha as part of the pilot course Human Rights Workshop.

The students will share their thoughts and vision in more detail in the next publication.
