As Arkadiy Bushchenko requested to resign him from the office of the Executive Director of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, the Board appointed Oleksandr Pavlichenko, current Chairman of the Union, to the post of Executive Director during the meeting on October 19, 2017.

The decision of the Board summed up the results of the open competition for the post, which lasted between September – October 2017.

The new Executive Director takes up his duties on November 1, 2017, when the current executive director resigns from the office.

In turn, Oleksandr Pavlichenko resigns from the post of the chairman of UHHRU on November 1, 2017. The Board decided that Liudmyla Klochko will perform duties of the chairman of UHHRU until a new chairman is appointed by the general meeting of the Union.
