A chapter of the report “Human Rights in Ukraine – 2016” prepared by human rights organizations are available for your attention.
The chapter of the annual report “Human Rights in Ukraine“ prepared by human rights organizations is dedicated to children’s rights. Maria Yasenovska, president of the Kharkiv Regional Foundation “Public Alternative” and Anastasia Bondarenko, an expert of the Coalition “Children’s Rights in Ukraine” prepared the report.
From the experts of the Coalition “Children’s Rights in Ukraine” opinion, the situation of children’s rights in Ukraine has not significantly improved but even worsened. The authors criticize the inefficiency of services for children; lack of competent law enforcement agency that would be an alternative to the «spoiled» criminal police for children; no change in promoting juvenile justice, representation of interests and rights of children in school, domestic violence and so on.
The authors point out law-making initiatives in the field of children’s rights and law novels. The lion’s share of the Chapter analyses the issue of internally displaced children.
In the end, a number of recommendations were submitted.
