On 28-29th of June 2017 “The Days of the Crimea” in the PACE took place.
The Days were prepared by the wide array of organizations. Among them – Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Humanitarian studio “Khvylya”, International Foundation “Renaissance”, Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Crimean tatar resource center, Crimean Human Rights Group, In-Art Agency.
The Days were hosted by the Vice-President of the PACE Giorgii Logvinskiy and also attended by the Head of the Delegation of the Parliament of Ukraine Volodymyr Ariyev, leader of the Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Dzhemilev, MP Anton Geraschenko, MP Oleksand Emets, representatives of the state delegations, the PACE members, Office of the Commissioner for human rights and politician of the russian opposition Garry Kasparov.
Days included launched by UHHRU socio cultural side event “Crimean evening” and round table “Political persecutions in occupied Crimea: through the eyes of the victim”. During the round table, which was finished just few hours ago Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Affairs of Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev, Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union expert Roman Martynovskyy, a lawyer Nikolai Polozov, wife of Ahtem Chiigoz Elmira Ablyalimova and Head of the Crimean tatar resource center Eskender Bariiev where underlined the need to release political prisoners and proposed to present members of the PACE to bring motion for resolution on this.
