How to keep being humane during the war?

The armed conflict in eastern Ukraine, and the occupation and annexation of Crimea once again raised the issue of the necessity of knowledge in the field of international humanitarian law for representatives of various professional groups and the general public. About 150 years ago, the First Geneva Convention for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded in Armies in the Field was adopted. It merged the idea of ​​the need to not deviate from the laws of humanness, even during the war, with international law. The law is binding, based on the need to establish certain rules if we do not want to allow the expansion of wars into uncovered barbarism. We have tried to summarize the basic rules of international humanitarian law in the focus of protection of the civilian population in our educational materials.
