On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 12:30, press conference “What will protect ordinary people during the conflict? Presentation of civil society’s legislative initiative” will be held at news agency Glavcom (8/20 Shovkovychna St.)

On April 18, 2018, Draft Law On the Principles of State Policy on Protecting Human Rights under Conditions of Overcoming the Effects of the Armed Conflict was announced at the hearing of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, Ethnic Minorities and International Relations, which the working group under the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights has been working on since November 2017. The draft law offers a fundamentally new approach to the problems caused by the armed conflict. This is not just because it incorporates the best world practices, but also due to prospect of long-term consideration for both national priorities and the interests of ordinary citizens affected by the conflict.

The draft law will take into account the expectations of all social groups of Ukraine, needs of territorial communities and requirements of the international community. How was it developed and what provisions does it contain?
