Program title: “Responding to Human Rights Violations and Empowering Citizens and Human Rights Defenders in Ukraine Activity” (Human Rights in Action Program)
A program, which is supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented in Ukraine by the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union from 2014 to 2022
With the purpose of enhancing accountability for human rights abuses and war crimes arising from the conflict in eastern Ukraine and illegal annexation of Crimea while laying a foundation for sustainable peace and social cohesion when the time is ripe.
To achieve it, the efforts will be focused on the next objectives:
Objective 1: Human rights monitoring and advocacy increased and strengthened
Objective 2: Strategic litigation increased
Objective 3: Awareness raising and citizen empowerment improved and increased
Objective 4: Survivors of torture and conflict are made as whole as possible for their loss and harm
The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights acts as beneficiary of the Program.
